  • the egg roll is greatly done, as good as the ones in japan
  • uni over done is heart killing good
  • the udon is hot and tasty, noodle is freshly made and silky smooth
  • the chicken wings / meat are perfect for grilled on a stick

  • slightly pricy comparing to st marks and other places

the good:

  • a very decent place, well-decoreated with friendly staff
  • many kinds of sake to choose from, pull to glass with wooden box – each serving equals two servings
  • the chicken wings are amazing, all other skews are very well-made

the bad:

  • located at kennedy town, bit far to be reached (the recent new MTR station solved this)
  • bit pricey but the place feels like exclusive

the good:

  • tasty and cheap skews
  • the beef skirt steak is amazing, juicy and tasty
  • chicken soft bones are as good as the ones in japan
  • very close to taste of japan, and very reasonable price

the bad:

  • beer were running out at the time we went there but they allow us to BYOB, no biggie!

  • chicken chicken chicken – every part of it
  • best chicken liver i’ve ever tasted
  • the chicken soft-bone is the true huge piece, not the tiny deep fried portion in US
  • perfectly iced beer, a must for yakitori
  • the eel is also amazing, fresh not over marinated

the bad:

  • none – would love to try the duck another time

the good:

  • overall very tasty food, the chicken meatball, croissant, taco, scramble eggs all above average
  • the whip cream are amazing going with the croissant
  • poached egg is perfect with chicken meatball and seaweed over rice
  • bloody mary is very flavorable
  • very reasonable price and cozy environment

the bad:

  • not too sure about the beer+milk combo

the good:

  • if u live at nyc and u don’t know what’s good about taisho u should stop reading this blog
  • special menu is worth trying
  • chicken skinsssssssss – need i say more?
  • mentaiko mixed with mayo should be the default dipping source for all fries, period

the bad:

  • should definitely offer a different size of draft beer other than pitcher, this is too small!
